Keeping forward momentum can take different forms. Sometimes it means sitting at the table for hours on a weekend, pencil in hand, editing, making notes, then turning the computer on and reshaping the draft all over again. Other times, it means coming home after a long day at the 9-to-5, dropping onto the couch, and feeding yourself edits through voice notes because your hands are too tired to type another word or pick up a pen.
But writing is writing. Creating is creating. Creators create. And sometimes that means finding a way to keep being who you are at your core, even when you don’t have much left to give.
The truth is, sometimes you don’t know where the finish line is. You just know you haven’t reached it yet. So, you keep running. That’s where I am right now. I’m running through a dark tunnel, and for a long time, I couldn’t see anything ahead of me. But lately, I’m starting to see it, a small peak of light in the distance. And maybe that’s all I need. Proof that the tunnel ends.
Now I just have to keep running.
So, to my fellow creators and to anyone out there chasing a goal:
Keep running.
The finish line is out there somewhere. You just have to keep going long enough to reach it.
