Coffee is the elixir of productivity and life.
I take thee to be my lawfully wedded wife.
To have and to hold.
I’ll never leave you out in the cold.
From the first yawn to the last deadline.
Dear Coffee, it is you and me until the end of time.
Coffee has a funny way of making us feel like an enhanced version of ourselves.
A little more alert. A little more focused. A little more capable of handling whatever the day throws at us.
And for a writer who also has a 9-to-5, creative ambitions, responsibilities, and the highly prestigious position of Super Dad, coffee becomes more than a drink.
It’s a faithful companion through early mornings, long workdays, blank pages, stubborn sentences, late-night writing sessions, and all the little moments in between when life is asking you to show up one more time.
Does coffee actually make us better?
Probably not.
But sometimes it gives us just enough of a boost to become the version of ourselves we needed to be that day.
And for that, Dear Coffee, I think our marriage is going to work out just fine:-)
