Where did the love go?
Oh, I can tell you that the love went right out the window
The love left when the party was over
I mean it dissipated when the inebriation disintegrated
And everyone was now…sober
The joyride was exciting
Your smile and your body were so…inviting
But where did the love go?
When the representatives went away and the real you stopped…hiding
Was the love so fragile that it could be broken
Upon our first disagreement or perhaps the first words misspoken?
Was the love a conditional contract with impossible terms?
Was it held together by an uneasy peace
That became soaked in flammable tears, making it so easy to burn?
Where did the love go?
Because I would like to know
I am without you, but perhaps if I knew
I could travel there to discover the cause of my broken heart so blue
So many talk a good game of love
But as to real practitioners, why are there so few?
