Fallen Angels (Part 1)

Amidst the glory of light, the darkness ascends with the company of clouds

As we fallen angels blend within the crowds, all the while remaining hidden by our shrouds

Wandering like lost souls pondering with open eyes, numb wounds, and sad smiles like tears of a clown

Because we see far too well what is going down

Let it unravel in my rhapsody because we notice the unseen tragedy in a world willfully ignorant to the grave dangers of apathy

Seeing the sin not in the religion or the dogma akin, but in the forsaking of another’s life based on their skin

The pure-hearted know this was the lie that was told and sold to the uneducated masses to maintain the position and hierarchy of classes

The pain is long, so I sing a song for the forgotten, downtrodden, and slain innocents

To the weak who couldn’t speak, I do this in remembrance

But, in order find the truth you seek, we must first lose all innocence

For the caged birds who still sing, for the youth who have been bereft of the truth

Because of histories rewritten by the legacy robbers who stole from the Original and erased all proof

Us who are angels with broken wings, look up as we are left to dwell in a manmade hell

But in order to dispel the suffering and create peace, knowing we must first rebel
